Tennille (fashionista), is beautiful, sophisticated, and with no shadow of a doubt one of the most driven people I know. The success Tennille has had with her vlog EyeFourStyle is an inspirational tribute to fueling your life with the things you are passionate about.
Why is she an inspiration to me?
I mean, why isn’t she! Tennille is a natural-born SHE BOSS, she knows what she wants and she’s not afraid to make the sacrifices to achieve results. I’ve had the pleasure of being apart of Tennille’s family since she was 16 years old and I’ve seen nothing but kindness, patience, and a beautiful soul.
As our second woman featured in our inspirational women series it was natural to gravitate towards Tennille. We have created this series, as it’s important for us to share stories from other women, to hear their accomplishments, regrets, advice and vision. We all have different journeys. But, we can definitely learn from and empower each other.
What is your biggest accomplishment thus far and why?
Stepping into my field of study! Despite being told I’m capable, I always thought television journalism was so much bigger than I am. So it’s crazy to realize that the door was opened for me all along.
Looking back on your life thus far, is there anything you regret?
Most of it I don’t regret because it made me the woman I am today. But, I do regret not taking my passion project seriously from the beginning. I’ve been doing YouTube for years to only really realize it’s what I love most now. But hey, everything happens for a reason.
What is the best piece of advice you can give another woman?
To be confident and have the work ethic to back up everything you do. As women, we’re easily judged from head to toe, inside and out. But get past that. Show up to tables you know that you belong to and display your skills. Obviously with a killer outfit though! Subscribe to my fashion Youtube channel for tips haha.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Wow. Surprisingly I’m not fully sure. I used to always give myself these few year outlooks but they often created anxiety and didn’t allow me to enjoy the journey. But other than building a family, I’d love to continue creating video content in the entertainment industry. Learning to travel alone is also integral. I shall be beach waltzing and dining at elite restaurants worldwide!
What is the best piece of advice given to you?
For me to stop doing too much. Often my superwoman instincts take control and I take on way too many projects at once. And as much as I’d like to save and heal the world, I have to start with myself. I took self-care to another level this past year and I’m flourishing because of it.
What do you think stops a woman or yourself from putting herself first?
Wow, I segued real good didn’t I? Haha. I think caring a lot about the wellbeing of others. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. That’s how we build strong communities. It’s a blessing that can occasionally become a curse when we don’t put ourselves first. Ha, I occasionally write poems too.
What three words, could be used to describe you?
Hmm, I hope this sounds modest enough. Fun, calm, and confident.
Your favourite inspirational quote: Let go, let God. Many of us take situations that are out of our control into our own hands. But if we just release the weight of those crazy circumstances and have faith that our journey will work out, we’ll find so much peace in our struggles.
Bonus question: Who is your favourite designer and why?
My favourite designer would have to be Balenciaga. I love timeless pieces but the laid back, edgy vibe I get from Balenci keeps pulling me back! I just got the sickest distressed denim jacket from them. 🙂
Thank you, Tennille, for sharing your wisdom, visions, and passions with us.
