Hi, it’s me again, Jen, with my opinions on what you should watch well locked up in your house. I have some of my personal favs and they are all binge-worthy tv series. 💖
Insecure

“Glowing up ain’t easy” is truly an understatement for Issa and her girl tribe. Insecure is not only relatable from the standpoint of a #sistership, but also in dealing with the modern dating world and the relationships we have with our families. Even though the show is primarily focused around Issa and Molly’s dating faux pas the real basis of the show surrounds the “glow up” of their friendship and how it survives each stage in their life.
The Handmaids Tale

The Handmaid’s Tale leaves my jaw dropped with every single episode. This was a very well thought out transition from paper to screen. Not to mention the eerie way Margaret Atwood is able to make your blood boil and skin crawl all at the same time. I had the pleasure of going to see M. Atwood last fall in a casual on-stage interview she did in Toronto, needless to say, she is an intelligent witty woman that knows exactly what her intent was with this series. Personally I tip my hat off to the author, writers, and cast of this show as they push the boundaries of our perfect little reality bubble with every season.
Big Little Lies

100% Binge-Worthy Series! I strongly believe every woman on the planet holds a trait from each character on Big Little Lies. Set in a small town within a large county a group of women who generally haven’t always gotten along are forced to come together for an issue that is bigger than all of them. This is a rainy weekend curl up on the couch kind of show that proved women are stronger in numbers. #strongertogether#puttingherfirst
Sex and the City

I don’t want to call it an oldie but goodie, but it is. I actually only got into Sex in the City a couple of years ago, but once I got hooked I preferred it over my mainstream shows. This was one of the few honest shows of it’s time that made for future opportunities on subjects that were otherwise seen as distasteful, but in my opinion things, women should have been conversating more about. You can talk about Tupperware another time Karen, let’s talk about the things that matter i.e. positions 😉
Westworld

Westworld wasn’t on my radar until the end of their first season, but it gave me some Lost vibes for sure (hopefully with a much better ending). The show’s concept of owning your own life and decisions is very well executed by the creators and writers. Lest we forget the main cast has powerful women leads who will literally cut you with as little as a look if you cross them. Westworld has sci-fi, drama, action, and also makes you reflect on the freedoms we take for granted.
